BREAKING DOWN A GRILL BRICK
I own a variety of grooming tools to work on my dogs' coats - my all time favorite however is still a pumice stone! I like to actually buy grill cleaning bricks off Amazon and break them down into ideal sized wedges. I place the stone in the palm of my hand to strip and pluck hairs with minimal coat damage or risk of breaking hair. Added bonus - it helps dull down stripping knives as well! As the stone gets used it will lightly crumble - adding grit and texture to the coat. The majority of the time I do not need to use chalk on my dogs while stripping as the stone does most of the heavy lifting for me!
